Welcome To US Communications & Electric, Inc.

Cleveland Metro Hospital
In 2000, US Communications and Electric completed the Metro Hospital renovation project. We installed 6,250 workstations throughout thirteen buildings at Metros Main Campus. Over 700 miles of copper cabling went into the workstations alone, along with the fiber backbone to link all of the buildings together through a series of 57 individual data closets, all done in 18 months.

Cleveland Clinics 89th Street Garage
US Communications just completed a two year project, beginning in 2007, involving installing over twelve thousand feet of fiber optic cable to link together 15 buildings into a core data point at the Clinic's 89 th Street Garage Service Center. Four hundred thousand feet of Cat 6 copper cabling was also installed to support cameras, wireless access points, and security systems to help monitor and control the massive four acre underground storage facility, which uses a state of the art robotics system, to deliver 35 tons of supplies per day throughout the hospital in underground tunnels connecting the many buildings on campus.

Key Bank Data Center
Job consisted of installing:

  • Over 50,000 feet of Cat 7 cable
  • Over 10,000 feet of Cat 5e cable
  • Three IDFs and One MDF consisting of fiber and copper backbone
  • Grounded 190 cabinets and 57 racks (J-STD)
  • Over 5,000 strands of fiber in the plug and play format to these cabinets and racks in redundant pathways
  • 57 super MOD locations
  • All the wireless locations
  • Terminated over 400 BNC ends for DS3 circuits
  • Installed A/V cable for board room presentations
  • 480 Cat 7 cables in the plug and play format
  • 288 Cat 6 cables in the plug and play format
  • 40,000 feet of Cat 6 cable, due to the quality of installation, exceeded that of the Cat 6 plug and play requirements.
  • Work safe environment. No injuries, no safety violations

Painesville Harvey New High School Project
We installed over 45 miles or 241,000 feet of copper Cat6 cabling throughout the facility terminating in one of five Tech closets. We thereby created 1,618 individual Cat6 locations, to be utilized for voice and data applications. At Painesville Harvey, we cabled 54 classrooms and a handful of conference rooms with state of the art audio video cabling that is responsible for the operation of the projector and DVD/VCR systems for the teachers' smart boards.

This project was slated to be completed the first week of January 4, 2010, and all prime contractors were able to sign a change order moving the date ahead to October 7, 2009 allowing the teachers and students to occupy the building just after Thanksgiving holiday break.

University of Akron Stadium Metroplex
This project included the installation of over 220,000 feet of Cat6 cable, and an additional 8,000 feet of fiber optic cable with over 440 fiber terminations. 8,000 feet of copper backbone cable was also installed. There where seven new IDF closets built plus an MDF. This project was completed in 3 months, was ahead of the project deadline, and had no punch list items.

Governmental Agency
US Communications traveled out of state to install a Fiber Optic Cable Backbone at an Intelligence Community facility. US Communications installed and terminated 7 miles of Fiber Optic Cable in an intricate underground duct bank manhole system to several buildings. This project was completed on budget and 4 weeks ahead of schedule while complying with very stringent safety, technical, and security requirements. The customer was pleased with our professionalism, quality, and aggressiveness to complete the job ahead of schedule.
