November 2023 – U.S. Acting Secretary of Labor Julie A. Su recognized US Communications and Electric, Inc. as one of the 859 recipients of the 2023 HIRE Vets Medallion Award during a virtual award ceremony presented by U.S. Department of Labor. US Communications and Electric, Inc. earned the gold award after applying earlier this year. The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes employers who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans. US Communications and Electric, Inc. joins 858 other companies from 49 states, plus the District of Columbia, who have shown a commitment to hiring veterans, but also ensuring that they have a long-term career and growth plan that uses the diverse skills they acquired through their military service. Recipients of the 2023 HIRE Vets Medallion Award meet rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including veteran hiring and retention percentages; availability of veteran-specific resources; leadership programming for veterans; dedicated human resource efforts; pay compensation and tuition assistance programs for veterans. More than 1,600 employers have earned a HIRE Vets Medallion Award since 2018.


November 2023 – US Communications and Electric came together to collect for Toys for Tots and WOW!! We are so grateful to everyone who donated. The bins were filled to the brim and no doubt there will be some very happy kids come Christmas time. There was everything from Barbie to Spiderman, basketballs, footballs, and even an art kit and ukelele! Thank you again for your generosity and thoughtfulness!


September 2023 – US Communications and Electric sponsored a meal at the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) in Cleveland, OH on Saturday, September 29th! 7 Volunteers from US Comm. gloved up and made a meal for families/guests residing and/or visiting the home. In addition to making dinner, we made PB&J sandwiches for their Grab and Go section, warmed up cookies for dessert, wrapped silverware and ensured the dishes were done! A big shout out to Mike at RMH for guiding us during our time there and providing an amazing tour of the facility!

We were happy to support such a great cause and plan to go back again!


August 2023 – US Communications has a passion for giving back to the community. This fall we chose to assist William Foster Elementary School in Garfield Heights, OH with school supplies. US Comm did our part by collecting crayons, notebooks, folders and Kleenex-just to name a few items!

We want to wish all the students and teachers an amazing school year!


July 2023 – We take great pleasure in announcing that John DiRocco has been promoted to Executive Vice President of US Communications and Electric, Inc. John is beginning his tenth year at US Communications and has earned this promotion as he exemplifies the Core Values of US Communications and has taken on more responsibilities each year.


June 2023 – US Communications and Electric sponsored 11 runners/walkers to take part in the 2023 Friends of City Dogs 5k at Edgewater Park in Cleveland, OH. By lacing up our sneakers we assisted the Friends of City Dogs whose mission is to provide financial assistance for the animals at Cleveland Animal Care and Control, which includes daily enrichment opportunities, medical care and supporting the CITY DOGS adoption and volunteer programs. One of our own employees, Marijo Mortaro is a volunteer for Friends of City Dogs; We were happy to support her and Friends of City Dogs!


June 2023 – US Communications and Electric sponsored another employee outing by taking employees and family members out to the ballpark for peanuts, popcorn, and a great game! And although the Guardians didn't secure a win, we had an awesome time! Thank you to everyone who joined us!


June 2023 – US Communications and Electric kicked off the summer season with a Start of Summer Picnic-which included a great meal from Maple Heights Catering, delicious ice cream from East Coast Custard, multiple raffles and a cornhole tournament with the winners being Aaron Schraibman and Steve Papp! Congratulations Aaron and Steve! We were so glad to see everyone at the shop and can't wait to do it again next year!


June 2023 – US Communications has a passion for giving back to the community. This summer we chose to assist Providence House out of Cleveland, OH with their wish list of needed items. Providence House mission is to protect at-risk children, support families through crisis and strengthen communities.

US Communications did their part of filling over 3 large boxes with outfits for children, backpacks, blankets, canned and perishable food items and $350 worth of gift cards!


June 2023 – US Communications awarded its Educational Grant to Cole Kaufhold, child of Tom Kaufhold. Congratulations, Cole, on a job well done. We are committed to supporting our families and their dependents that are seeking higher education. We wish Cole continued success throughout their college career and on.


May 2023 – US Communications and Electric sponsored another employee outing by taking employees to axe throwing at Class Axe in Valley View, OH. We learned how to throw various axes and had a healthy competition that resulted in Kevin Kovach and Blanche Damon winning on their respective boards. Good Job Kevin and Blanche! We look forward to the next event!


June 2021 – US Communications awarded its 2nd Educational Grant to Hannah Braz, daughter of Dave Braz. Congratulations, Hannah, on a job well done. We are committed to supporting our families and their dependents that are seeking higher education. We wish Hannah continued success throughout her college career and on.


November 2020 – US Communications is excited to report that we were recognized by U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia as one of the 675 recipients, nation-wide, of the 2020 HIRE Vets Medallion Award during an award ceremony at the U.S. Department of Labor. We earned the GOLD Level after applying earlier this year and meeting the qualifications. The HIRE Vets Medallion Award is earned by leading businesses that demonstrate unparalleled commitment to hiring and retaining veterans.

The HIRE Vets Medallion Award is based on a number of criteria, ranging from veteran hiring and retention to providing veteran-specific resources, leadership programming, dedicated human resources, and compensation and tuition assistance programs.

June 2020 – US Communications awarded its first Educational Grant to Madison Baldwin, daughter of Rich Baldwin. Congratulations, Madison, on a job well done. October 2019 – US Communications is proud to announce that we have been certified as a Veteran-Friendly Business Enterprise (VBE) and may now participate in the State of Ohio's VBE program.

Our staff consists of veterans from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps. US Comm supports our vets in any way possible and takes pride in our team and their service.


September 2019 – US Communications was honored to be a title sponsor for the 2019 John A. Gannon Memorial Golf Tournament. This year 144 golfers attended the tournament, which honors John A. (Jack) Gannon and Jim Andrews, former MetroHealth System trustees, Cleveland firefighters and advocates for trauma and burn patients.

Since 1998, when the tournament was established, more than $900,000 has been raised for the John A. Gannon Burn and Trauma Center and MetroHealth’s Comprehensive Burn Care Center. Weather was great and a good time was had by all!


August 2019 – US Communications has a passion for giving back to the community. This year we chose to help Fox 8 News with their Stuff the Bus initiative benefitting over 10,000 kids. For 2019 generosity from the community stuffed over 16 buses with school supplies for the kids of Cleveland and their teachers.

US Comm did their part with the goal of filling up a Jeep full of donations. Everyone enjoyed making a difference in the lives of local children and set the goal to fill 2 Jeeps next year!


July 2019 – US Communications participated in the MetroHealth System & Turner Construction Education & Networking Event for local small, minority, and female businesses in Construction. This is a critical initiative for the MetroHealth Campus Transformation project.

Dr. Akram Boutros, MD, MetroHealth President and CEO, was the keynote speaker and detailed the journey MetroHealth is undertaking. As a woman owned business US Comm was more than happy to support this important event with some of our great team members!


May 2019 – US Communications and Electric, Inc was honored to be listed in the top 10 on Crain’s Largest Woman Owned Businesses in Cleveland.


April 2019 – US Communications CEO and owner, Patricia Connole, was selected as a 2019 Progressive Woman in Business by Smart Business.

Pat was honored at the Smart Women Breakfast at the Westin Cleveland along with other 2019 honorees including business leaders and entrepreneurs in the greater Cleveland area.

April 2019 – The US Comm team got an unbelievable behind the scenes all access experience at the Toyota Owners 400 NASCAR race at historic Richmond Raceway. We were honored by one of our great partners, Superior Essex, to have our logo on the hood of number 00, driven by Landon Cassill. The trip included meet and greets with Landon and other drivers, taking part in the pre-race ceremonies on the track, and spending time in the crew chiefs’ box during the Monster Energy race. Overall everyone had a great time and left with a new appreciation for the world of racing.

On behalf of the College, we wish to extend to you our sincere appreciation for the effort you put forth to ensure we accomplished our goal of LEED Silver Certification. Thank you for helping us achieve this very significant milestone.
